How do i flag off my project on a small working model of a maglev trains??

I am a college student and i am planning to do a project on making a working model of a MAGLEV train.. I have done quite a few reading and research on this topic but how do i flag off my project practically What all do i need to start???

It all depends on what you want to accomplish with the model. Do you want to show the train levitating on the guiderail or do you want it to run around a loop of guiderail (track)?
